God has been doing great things in me in France. I am so grateful for the opportunity to experience his love in a new culture and see that he is the same God all around the world.
I’ve enjoyed seeing what God is doing at MLK on Sundays. The worship experience is unique and fresh. I love the passion that MLK has in its worship; the worship leaders always pour their heart and soul when they sing, and strive to prepare the church to receive the presence of God.
Throughout our study abroad experience, we have also visited Hillsong Paris. I enjoyed the service because it was in both French and English. The worship is wonderful, and they always sing one song in English. It is easy to follow along when songs are in French because we do know most of Hillsong’s worship songs. I felt very welcomed at Hillsong and would love to go again before study abroad is over.
My church experiences have been great, but I have also been learning a lot in my individual spiritual life. God has been working in me and teaching me to rely solely on him. I feel that study abroad has challenged parts of me that have never been challenged, and in turn, God has shown me areas in my life that he wants to work in.
I’m so grateful for study abroad because the language barrier and struggles of living abroad have pushed me closer to God. I desire to be in his presence more and more each day. Though it was difficult to hear, I’m thankful to the Holy Spirit for telling me the areas of my life and personality that aren’t pleasing him so I can change.
I believe that my faith has been challenged here and that it is all working to make me a better person.
