Gone fishin'

Dunk & Russell Islands, 06.25.2024

After cloudy rainy drizzle the entire time at Dunk Island we motor/sail on to Russell Island in more cloudy rainy drizzle with some shy dolphins along the way. It’s remarkable how often we have these islands all to ourselves, with no other boats in the harbors. Most are national parks perfect for daytrips (via tour boats) with some campsites, walking trails, pristine beaches and a great variety of seabirds. The farther away they are from the mainland, the safer they are from crocodiles and the better they are for snorkeling. Stinger season is also over. The snorkeling at Russell does not disappoint. It is an amazing aquarium with endless corals, numerous giant clams, several turtles, yellow box fish and even a couple blue-spotted yellow rays trying to hide under the coral. So worth staying here for a few days!
We love you as deep as the deep blue sea. XOXOXOXO Gma & Gpa
