Rome Artifacts Peyton Fralick

The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512. He is typically thought of as more of a carver than a painter but he did a fantastic job with the Sistine Chapel. One one of the side walls he painted different scenes from the life of Moses including the burning bush and the crossing of the red sea. On the other side wall the life of Jesus is depicted in several panels. On the ceiling there is a variety of different scenes happening, some of which are creation and Adam and Eve in the garden. This was painted in the renaissance but had an obviously Christian theme because it was made for the church.
