The arch of Constantine is on the newer end of ancient. The arch of Constantine is a structure that actually includes three different arches. Historically these arches were built to celebrate a military triumph. This arch is styled after the arches that came before it. Many of the reliefs that decorate the arch are borrowed from previously existing monuments, for instance one of the reliefs depicts Marcus Aurelius. Constantine commissioned this work on his only trip to Rome as emperor.
