Bernini's David is my favorite piece of art that I saw on this trip. It is a marble statue that was carved in 1623 and 1624, In this marble statue Bernini shows David preparing to throw a stone. His face is determined and focused. I think what I like the most about it is how realistic the statue looks. His sling has tension in the rope, his muscles are flexing David is preparing to fight Goliath. This statue is without a doubt a masterpiece. This version of David was carved in the late renaissance.
