Day 8
Today I met up with Max for coffee at around 09:00. We went out on the apparently impossible task, of getting peanuts. I could swear that any other day, there would have been roasted peanuts everywhere, but not the day before my eight hour bus ride. I'm traveling to Pokhara with the French girl I met yesterday, her name is Romi. It's going to be super exciting to go there. They have a huge lake and you can rent a boat to go across and on the other side It's possible to go Paragliding. I've heard about amazing views of Annapurna at this exact location, and after seeing the pictures that a girl in my dorm took, I'm sold.
At the moment the time is 15:30 and we are pretty much waiting to go to dinner. One of the people in this hostel is traveling solo, and he wants to go for the legendary trek known as APC. I'm thinking about going with him, although that means spending a lot of money on gear. First I would need a Jacket that can handle howling winds in the mountain pass, I will also need a sleeping bag that withstands -20 degrees. For now I think the best thing is to simply focus on getting to Pokhara and enjoy the ride.
19:20, Finally found the peanuts. It took me almost the entire day, apart from a few breaks to get a hold of three small packets of natural roasted nuts. Being a Celiac in Nepal is a challenge in itself, a lot of the food is naturally gluten free but there have been many times that I've had to go on gut feeling and stick with what I know. For tomorrow, that means peanuts, cashew nuts, almonds and fruit. I can't afford to be picky in a situation like this, especially when I'm going to be locked into a bus for 8 hours. Tonight it's time to pack everything up and go to bed early, for the bus leaves at 07:00 from a gas station nearby.
