Day 1
The first day was intense. I was dropped of early in the morning, only to hear that I might not be able to go because I didn't have a return ticket booked from Nepal. A friendly danish woman helped me and together, we updated the passport information. She gave me two freshly printed boarding cards and wished me a good flight.
Aboard the first flight I felt very excited. I had breakfast and watched "Ready player one". I thought to myself that it wonderful how you can watch newly released movies, where as for ten years ago, you had a single five year old movie play instead.
After almost six hours I landed in DOHA just to realize that I have one hour to get to the next gate, and I had to ride a train to get there. This was okay although I had to skip lunch... Aboard the next flight I met a middle aged couple from Minnesota, both of whom, where very polite. We talked a lot about Nepal and backpacking, turns out that it was something they had done their entire life.

They helped me through immigration, and after an entire day of travelling, I had finally arrived.
Day 2
After entering the dorm at 02:30 local time (waking all of the sleeping guests) I started the second day in an equally spectacular manner. I got up after a couple of hours and watched the sunrise from the rooftops. When this was over, I took my bag and went out to the city. I was lost in ten minutes... Kathmandu doesn't sneak up on you, it smacks you in the face, and to be honest, it was really invigorating. Everything smells different, traffic is the more chaotic than the white house with trump in it, big chunks of meat hang out in the sunlight and lines of colorful religious fabric creates a roof over every street. All of this creates an overload of sensory stimuli that I was not, in any way, ready for.
