Ireland & England

York is a very old town which I visited quite often as a child. We stayed at the Ibis on the outskirts so it was a bit of a walk into town. York is a historic walled city and we got to walk around some of the walls and visit York Minster. The "Shambles" is a medieval street near the York Minster and is cobblestoned and reminiscent of olden times. We had a roast for dinner at a pub. There were lots of ruins to look at and some great views while walking around the walls. You cannot walk all the way around now as parts of the wall are no longer there. I remember as a child walking the whole wall around the city but that was way back in the 1960's not much else had changed.
