Alaska RV Trip

Well, the refer worked…who knows if it was the 12 pound block of dry ice or the use of propane overnight. Regardless, the food was cold and we decided to continue the trek to British Columbia and our caravan.

Just a few miles north of Weed, we began to see the effects of the
Klamathon Fire. So much of the terrain was burned. It was amazing to see homes still standing when everything around them was charred. What firefighters do is really incredible.

After several smoked-filled hours of driving, we finally saw blue sky. We did nothing but drive, today, but we did enjoy the beautiful scenery (lots of green up here) and the pleasant 75-degree temperature. We had no reservations (since I was gun shy about making them and cancelling again) and, so we ended up in a really funky place (sketch was the word John used) in Aurora, Oregon. For one night, it’ll do.
