Kenai, AK

Surrounded by spectacular volcanic mountains, the RV park sat on the bluff above the mouth of the Kenai River where it empties into the Cook Inlet .

We spent part of a day walking along the Kenai beach for what seemed like miles. It was long and flat and the day, picture perfect, ended with a gorgeous sunset. On our only full day in Kenai, we started out at the Visitors’ Center, went to a local craft fair, and then

drove to the northern most point on the Kenai Peninsula, Captain Cook State Park where we were able to hike along Bishop Creek to the ocean. Later in the afternoon, we spent time searching for elusive wildlife in the Kenai Flats. Our final night together as a group ended with a potluck and some goofy entertainment.
