Sarah and Marks adventures

Day 1 - After waiting 2 hours to clear immigration at JFK airport, we finally made it to New York. We managed to navigate the subway all the way to our hotel in Korea Town only to find out they had over booked and didn't have a room for us. The good news was they had booked a room at the Radisson for a cheaper price and with a free upgrade!

Day 2 - With an early start, thanks to our jetlag, we set off to the Chelsea District to check out the highline, which is an old railway track that has been converted into a pedestrianised greenway with beautiful gardens that line the walkway. We then met an old client of Mark's for lunch, who he had worked with for 5+ years but had never met. He took us to a trendy Mexican restaurant in the heart of Manhattan and paid for our expensive lunch, the guacamole was $25!
After lunch, it was more sightseeing, where we ticked off The Grand Central Station and Central Park. To continue the tourist trend, we had a giant slice of pizza for dinner before heading to a church by Times Square to hear a gospel choir in the evening.

Day 3 - More sightseeing today, we visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We then had lunch at a cheap Michelin-starred restaurant I found on Tripadvisor. We had a delicious 3 course Chinese meal costing $23 for the both of us!! I made the mistake of saying I liked spicy food (see the picture below) and was presented with a plate of chilies with some chicken.

In the afternoon we visited the 9/11 memorial site, a beautiful tribute to a tragic event.

Day 4 - We visited the Nintendo store, which I think was Mark's highlight of NY and then set off for a day in Brooklyn. It wouldn't be a trip to Brooklyn without walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.

In the evening, we went to my first baseball game, Yankees vs Texas Rangers, I saw 5 home runs which is a rare sight apparently
