Sarah and Marks adventures

We had heard mixed opinions about Bolivia and weren't sure if we wanted to visit the country but after researching the Slat Flats (Solar Del Uyuni) we thought we couldn't come this far and not see them. The Peru Hop also made the journey to Bolivia easy and from Bolivia we could cross into Chile easily.

After a 6 hour bus ride from Puno we arrived into La Paz at 10pm and what a shock it was in contrast to the touristic side of Peru. There was a big pile of rubbish outside hostel (it had disappeared by the morning), 1000s of wires hanging from one building to the next and the pollution was very thick. Luckily I had booked us an amazing hostel which was more like a hotel. It had only been open for a week so the pillows and bedding were big and fluffy, the shower was incredible and we even had a TV with netflix in our room.

Our new Friends Jenny and Cheyne also stayed in same hostel and we all made friends with the manager Alan who was from Ireland. Alan told us about a food festival that was on that evening so we all hopped in a taxi and travelled 30 minutes to south of La Paz to enjoy some street food and the beer garden.

We flew from La Paz to Sucre which is a cute colonial town with beautiful buildings and a big plaza. Sucre is also famous for having one of the largest collections of dinosaur footprints in world.
