After returning from Versailles and getting refreshed for the rest of the night at the hotel, I was ready to get on the metro and head downtown towards the Eiffel Tower where our boat cruise was going to be. Like some of the days we were there, there was at least a slight drizzle so of course the night that we were spending majority outside and going on a boat tour it was raining. The group and I got to where we would be boarding the boat to ride down the Seine River located in the heart of Paris. Throughout the trip we saw things such as Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and many other significant things that make Paris so beautiful. The city itself is already gorgeous at night with the shops and cafes all lit up welcoming people off the street into their restaurants and it feels like a close knit community and everyone is so kind. There is a misconception about Parisians in that most don't like Americans and this and that but the time I spent in Paris everyone was friendly. On this boat tour there was a man and his wife sitting behind us and even though they weren't from Paris they were really nice and had conversations with a few of us and took the time to have those conversations. They made everyone laugh and it was just nice to know that some people are so kind to interact with others and that's what one would hope for when they are in a foreign country. At night the Eiffel Tower is lit up and sparkles for five minutes at the top of every hour.
