After stepping off of the bus and a short walk to our hotel, we had finally made it. Luckily accompanying me on this trip were two of my friends and fellow soccer teammates who I ended up rooming with. The three of us headed upstairs to short out the sleeping arrangements and to freshen up as we had a long day ahead of us. We put all of our stuff down and open the back doors to the balcony to see the view from our room. On the left is the view from our balcony in which there is an American saying across the middle. After a bit of time we were to head downstairs where we would start our day into Paris. We took the metro into the city where we enjoyed a nice meal on a busy street of many shops and restaurants. On the first day it was a little difficult to decide what to eat because the menu was obviously in French. Not knowing a lick of French, I ended up ordering lasagna which turned out to be cheese and tomato sauce baked on top of eggplant. In the end the meal was better than I had expected when I first found out it was eggplant beneath the melted cheese.
