Either way, this piece of art tells Rome's story by their movement into realism. The Hellenistic time period heavily focused on realism and it is very clear in this artifact. The painful emotion reflected on the sculpture's face is undeniable. The idea that this is a dying Gal during the Gallic Wars is further supported because of the ring depicted around this figure's neck. The ring was typical for Gals to wear during times of battle and were often times taken as trophies by their conquerors.
