Deb & Rash Sahota's 2 Years in Edinburgh
What a weekend, met Donna and Zen in Brussels train station, they caught the Eurostar whilst we flew into Brussels from Edinburgh then caught the train to meet them. All boarded next train to takes us to Bruges. Had a nice bottle of wine on the train even though it was only 11.00am.
Once in Bruges left the train station and walked to the nice apartment we had rented. Quite shocked to find the steepest stairs indoors ever and only one loo which was on the ground floor, getting up in the night was going to be interesting.
On the Saturday went on a free walking tour, our guide Mike was great and very informative, taking in the old buildings and history of the city. After walking for two hours we thoroughly deserved the fresh waffles, strawberries, chocolate and cream we had afterwards. Bruges is know for its chocolate and there are hand made chocolate shops everywhere. Nice meal sat outside restaurant in the evening washed down with a few drinks.
The apartment came with the use of bicycles so on Sunday morning we set off. Rode the canal path right around the city taking in the views of the windmills. The ride was 6K, had a much needed drink in town afterwards. Final evening spent having a typical evening meal in lovely old Bruges restaurant then back to the apartment for final drinks before packing for trip back in the morning.
