RV Trip

After a two month hiatus from my RV trip, which was caused by a medical issue in Ruidoso, NM, I am returning to my trip--although in a somewhat shortened version. To begin the trip, Deb and I traveled a few days ago from Jacksonville to Atlanta for a quick overnight and enjoyed a wonderful streak dinner at Rathburn Streak House; we then traveled to Charlotte for two nights and had the opportunity to visit the Billy Graham Library. The photo shows the original Graham house which was relocated/rebuilt on the Library site along with the "Barn" which houses all of the artifacts, displays, programs and gift shop/snack bar. Deb mentioned during our tour that the "flow"

reminded her of a Disney experience, and it turns out that the Disney folks were involved in the creation of the Library experience.

A longtime elementary school friend of mine, Ron, is going to travel with me in the RV for the first few weeks to have both some nice travel time together and to have someone "monitor" my health--ensuring I am safe to continue on my own. We flew from Charlotte tonight through Houston and landed in Albuquerque about midnight. All went smoothly, except for my losing a tooth crown due to an expensive and very stale/hard chocolate chip cookie from an airport snack bar. Apparently, it is always something.

And, thanks to Jayne for giving Ron an extended "hall pass".
