Last Week of School

Whoa. Can't believe it's already the day before my last day of school. This week has been pretty relaxed because we had finals last week and the students don't actually get any school off between semesters or during winter so we didn't do many productive things this week. Most unfortunately is that I'm now sick. Thursday, three days before Lily and I go on our trip I get sick. I think Linh got me sick because she had a nasty cough at the beginning of the week. If we didn't have stupid naptime it wouldn't be an issue but I sleep very near to her so I think she transferred some of her germs to me. Hopefully it will just last a few days, I took some Advil today and Dung just gave me this fizzy tablet drink (I think like Airborne) so hopefully it will go away.

Lily is currently on the plane to Taipei and then Hanoi so I'll see her tomorrow but I think I'll just go to pay and then give her the duffel for the trip. Viet wrote a huge list of local restaurants so I can help Lily find a dinner spot but it's probably just best for me to rest as much as possible. I have been drinking tons of water so hopefully that will clear me out but the most worrisome thing is my very rapid heartbeat.

For my last day tomorrow I had

planned on making cookies to bring (after I was cleared by my English teacher to do so), but she just cancelled our celebration so now I have 32 cookies and I'm not quite sure what to do with them. I'm still going to bring some to school so people can have one during break or lunch if they want.

Today also brought news of my fourth college admission! I read today in an email (the counselor said he typically likes to call students but knew I was in Vietnam) that I was accepted into Warren Wilson College!! Other than the fact that it's in a pretty small town in North Carolina, it seems like a perfect fit. I'm going to visit with my mom sometime in the following year so I can decide if it's a place I want to study or not. I have other choices and I would be happy going to any of the schools I applied to so I can't really make a wrong decision. Anyway, that was very exciting news and I shared the email with my family. Of course my parents responded because my mom was up obscenely late and my dad obscenely early, but I'm sure Emma was asleep when I sent it (and still is) and Lily is on the plane.

I want to keep this post short because I want to go to sleep as early as possible so I can feel better in the morning. I will go to school to say bye to my classmates and maybe take some pictures but I'll probably only stay for a couple periods because I don't think I'll feel too well. I officially said goodbye to my chemistry teacher today who is my favorite teacher at DTD. Nhi took a couple photos of us so hopefully I can get those and maybe post them here. I said I would bring her some cookies tomorrow but since I might be leaving early, hopefully The Anh can pass them on to her.

Anyway, I'm going to head to bed now and I'll hopefully post something on my birthday, maybe some pictures with Lily and at dinner. Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your week!
