The Opportunist Traveler

We decided to visit my cousin Katherine in Hong Kong in order to celebrate her 30th birthday. We choose a hotel in Sheung Wan close to my cousins flat in Soho and arrived late on Friday afternoon. We had both visited Hong Kong before, for the legendary Hong Kong 7's, so we knew the city already. On the Friday night I went to my cousins friend Emma's house to have dinner for her 30th birthday. We played games and ate cupcakes. While I was at my girls night Rich met up with some old school friends and went for drinks in the infamous Wan Chai district.
The next day we met some of Rich's friends for a delicious champagne
hotel brunch. Hotel brunches are an extravagant part of the expat
lifestyle in both Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore, where people eat
and drink until they are about to explode. Happily the brunch was a
relaxed affair and we came away in one piece. After brunch we went down to the waterfront and went for a cruise on the star ferry. In the evening we went to a bar in Soho for my cousins 30th birthday and ended up at the infamous Lang Kai Fung road drinking jelly shots and dancing on the table.
The next day with heavy heads we met my cousin for brunch at Ooola, a delicious restaurant in Mid-Levels, and then finished our trip off with a visit to the Peak to take in the view of Hong Kong.
