The Opportunist Traveler

As my parents were visiting Melbourne I decided to join them for the long weekend. Both my Aunt and Uncle live in Melbourne and it was
a perfect opportunity to see all the family together. I took the overnight flight and arrived in Melbourne at 6am in the morning. I
joined my parents and sister and we made our way by taxi to my Aunts house in Armadale. Their house was beautiful with an intricate awning, high ceilings and wooden floors. The main living room faced
out onto the garden which was under full construction. The weather in Melbourne is always unpredictable but the sun was shining for us.
The weekend was very relaxed. We went for a pub lunch and watched
the Aussie rules final on the TV. In the evening we had a family meal
at my Aunts house.
The following day it was my cousins birthday and we all went to the
park to have a picnic. On the way I stopped off at my cousin Clare's
flat to see where she lived. The picnic was cold and windy and we
didn't stay long. In the afternoon my sister went shopping and I went
to the cinema with my cousin Clare to see Boyhood. The cinema was
located inside a shopping mall and had a cafe and bar. We grabbed a
glass of wine and took it into the cinema with us. The end of the trip
was finished with a tour around town. We visited the lanes and had
lunch in a little cafe. We stopped by my cousin Clare's shoe shop and I
bought some Italian leather sandals. We also popped into the state
library which was one of the biggest libraries in the country and was fascinating to see. Inside there were hundreds of students working.
The library was white and round and had an enormous ceiling with
shelves of books flanking the walls. It was then time for me to go to
the airport.
