My diary

Chris was leaving for her cruise to Dubai today so Ian and I left with her at 9:30am to drive her to Southampton to board her boat, the Oceania. Going through Devizes we got stuck behind a horse and cart from the Wadworth Brewery - they still use dray horses and carts to deliver their beer kegs, which is what this one was doing. After that we had a smooth run and got to Southampton soon after 11:30am. The Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Victoria were both in the harbour as well as the Oceania – they are all huge boats, especially the Queen Victoria – they really are large floating hotels rather than a ship. Chris’s son David met us at the drop off point (he was going on the cruise with Chris) so we had a quick chat with him and then we left the 2 of them to get on board and start their holiday. Ian and I went into Southampton for lunch and then drove back to Calne. It was another cold but clear day today so we had a lovely drive back through the countryside – the drive through the Salisbury plain was especially beautiful. The girls had been tasked with walking into town while we were gone, to get food for dinner – their choice. They hadn’t long got back home when we arrived about 3:30pm and it’s pizza on the menu for tea. So they have had another very relaxing day today. Tomorrow we are off to Harry Potter World so it will be an early start for us all.
