Laters London - MC and JD's adventure back to NZ

Today we are heading out of this monster city, yay! We are heading down to Irvine in Orange County for the night.

During Jo’s NZ Contiki she also met a couple who live in Irvine, Kari and Rob. They offered for us to spend a day at the beach in the OC and stay the night at their place, the offer was well received!

We got our favourite Metro to Union Station so we could get back on the Pacific Surfliner. This time heading back the way we had come a couple of days ago. After an hour we arrived in Irvine and met Kari, Rob, and their son, Hayden. Introductions all around and we headed to the beach. This was far and away the most successful beach trip of our holiday so far. A beautiful secluded cove called Crystal Cove. It was absolute bliss. Crystal blue water and not a cloud in the sky! Even a wee shore dump to navigate! After lounging around and skipping stones with Hayden for an hour or so we headed to the Beachcomber restaurant for a feed and a drink. Amazing place and well worth the trip.

After packing up and a trip to a massive supermarket, we headed to Kari and Rob’s place. They live in an area called Woodbury. It is a very nice place and they have a beautiful house. It seemed like a mansion after our London flat and the places we have been staying on this trip! A great evening yarning and cooking s’mores over a few drinks. A great escape from the city for a night!
