Our first few days in Mexico are spent in Mexico City, trying to navigating the language barrier and wishing we had followed through on our earlier promise to ourselves to learn some Spanish. I don't think 10 words is going to cut it. The funniest time is mealtimes when we cross our fingers hoping that whatever we ordered was what we meant to order. Street stalls are the easiest when we just point at the food being cooked.

Mexico City is huge and a little overwhelming. A lack of preparation meant that we didn't realise it was actually cold even though it was summer. I may be the only person wearing thongs at night.

On our last day, we take a bus to the Teotihuacan pyramids where we wander for the day amongst other tourists climbing the various pyramids. My fear of heights kicks in at the top of the highest pyramids with a mini panic attack having me hugging the walls while others stand and sit on the edge but the views are wonderful.
