Koh Kood, Thailand

Henry's condition had gotten worse so upon arrival at Trat we visited the hospital. He was admitted with some sort of infection and was kept on antibiotics and a drip for 2 nights. It wasn't the start to our travels he had exactly hoped for. Even so we got through the two days playing cards, watching films and complaining about the terrible hospital food.

With a large supply of pills he was released so we caught a bus to the pier and headed to the island of Koh Kood. We had never heard of this island before but it was recommended to us by Sophie, the auzzie who ran the hostel in Bangkok. She told us it was a largely unspoiled island with a great

atmosphere. And she wasn't lying. We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing time. We stayed at a place called sunset bar which was the hot spot for locals and travellers at night. Even so there were normally only 8-10 people there showing how quiet the island really was.

We rented mopeds and toured the island seeing 3 amazing waterfalls. They were all full off the small fish that nibble at your feet (which I found a bit weird), and you could jump down one of them. We chilled out the rest of the time, eating, swimming, sunbathing, met some Canadian girls and some Germany guys. The sea was amazingly warm and we could swim from the beach to the bar we stayed at. The Germans cooked us a meal on our last night that was composed mainly of meet and potatoes. A nice change from the curries and rice.
