Keith & Noel's Route 66 Adventure

The end of our trip was nearing, and we were now trying to travel 350 to 425 miles per day to reach home by Monday the 27th. We drove from Canistota SD to Wisconsin Dells WI a pretty much uneventful drive and spent the night there. Wisconsin Dells if you have never been there is kind of like a Las Vegas for kids, many water parks, amusement parks, fun things to do, we were surprised at that.
The next day we spent a very long day driving and reached a Hotel in Bowling Green OH about 8:30 PM, and then Monday it was a 5 1/2 hour drive back to Rochester.
The trip was over, we had a ball and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has it on their "Bucket List", you would not be sorry.
The scenery was tremendous, the adventure was exciting, but another part of the trip that added to the enjoyment was the people we met along the way. All with a story, whether it be the eccentric collector we met at his shop that sang Route 66 to us, or the retired man that sat in the restored gas station in the middle of nowhere that had travelled the world, or the waitress in Wisconsin that was from Romania visiting for 3 month that said there was no place like this at home. Or the couple from New Zealand that sought us out in a soda fountain when they heard us talk about driving 66 in a Corvette, the Barmaid in Wyoming telling us about her parents owning businesses and her getting her masters in Laramie 350 miles from her job, or the excited shopkeepers in Joplin Ill, where we stopped on the way home

who said they never get to meet the people that finish route 66 only the ones that start it. And how about the little diner in Arizona where the other people having lunch when we were there were from the United Kingdom, and a group from Holland, that had us sign the guest book for Foreign travelers because we were all the way from New York!
They all add to the experience we had.

So there you have it, 27 Days, 18 States, 7694 Miles, and 6 National Parks. Thanks for following along on the Noel and Keith Route 66 Adventure!
