Mt Rushmore - Badlands -Canistota SD

We begin the next day with a trip to Mount Rushmore, we met a lot of traffic, and the place was packed with people, we parked in the 3 story ramp garage and went in to the viewing area. It was neat to see something you heard about all of your life, and we were glad we went, it was an amazing task to make this monument to our presidents. We then stopped in the town of Keystone for lunch, a popular stop after Rushmore, it was getting even hotter and the town was packed and parking was hard to find.
After lunch we were on the road toward the Badlands National Park

for a drive through. It was about an hour away, and along the route were many signs advertising Wall Drugs, a store with everything, so we took a quick stop in Wall to see what it was about. It was a huge rambling store with anything you could want, from Western Wear to toys, to leather wear, Saddles a Pharmacy etc. it was a very big part of the town of Wall, and the tourists love it. On the way to the car the Temperature sign on the bank read 109 degrees, hot,hot,hot!! The Badlands were very interesting and once again a new view of beautiful landscapes around every corner. The loop through the Badlands ends once again on Route 90 where we spend the next 5 1/2 hours driving to Canistota for the night. We were very late getting in.
