Liberia - The Inaugral Trip

Dejoy and I were on a Liberian adventure of sorts – definitely of our own making – today. We drove out to the airport to see if we could find my luggage since no one seemed to know anything when we called. It was about an hour drive through mostly countryside. It is beautiful scenery, and I am trying to not ask for him to turn on the air conditioning. We had great conversation, getting to know one another more. I really enjoy spending time with him and Hawa.
We walked into this space that had all kinds of luggage. I found mine almost right away, buried deep (clearly it had been there for a bit). They asked for my form from AirFrance. All I had was a picture of the form, which the woman had asked me

All over the countryside

to take. So, we went to find a printer which was easy to do but with no wifi, Dejoy had to take a picture of the picture on my phone to send for printing. The personnel who printed for us wanted LIB$500 (~US$3.30) as payment for his trouble. But we paid it and went back with the printout. We easily walked out at that point with my suitcase, miraculously, no one else asking for a little side money.
Then, we had a little surprise for Eddie and Greta. About two years ago, they bought land, but have yet to visit it. Dejoy and I went to see it! It is off the beaten track, the “road” was beach sand all the way and it was just part of the day’s adventure. The property is beautiful, though I later told Eddie he has lots of work to do (haha) as it is covered in palm trees (sounds lovely, right?). On our way back we snacked on whole cucumbers and an apple. Just a day in the life.
