After hearing from our friend Vincent Van Gogh that he had cut his ear off in frustration at the organised nature of Dutch society, our interest was sparked and we decided to visit. Little did we know that we were flying into what was essentially a swamp that had been pumped out with windmills since Roman times. So we packed our clogs and off we went.

Little did we know that we were flying into what was essentially a swamp that had been pumped out with windmills since Roman times. So we packed our clogs and off we went.
We enjoyed a live sex show in Amsterdam and a curious local delicacy called a “hash brownie” which had us giggling with delight all evening.
After nearly drowning due to rising sea levels we were taken in by a local family at Christmas and offered food and lodgings.
Home made fireworks are also popular in Holland with this ripper setting of car alarms throughout an entire 2 block radius.
Interesting Travel Fact: There are no roads in Holland, only trains, which always run on time.
