The Irish Pubs ha? I remember being in NYC a couple of years ago when a friend of mine started pointing out what for me was just another bar in the city. She mentioned that these "Irish pubs" how she called them at that moment where her favorite places for hanging out with friends or for grabbing a drink after work. Now that I have been in Ireland I feel like my understanding of what an Irish pub is has increased enormously. My first experience in a pub was in Galway and it was so much fun that I thought that I have been missing out for a long time. I love live music and having the opportunity to go to bars where musicians are performing live is an extraordinary and uncommon experience since my idea of a bar was more like people talking, drinking and a Dj playing. Irish pubs however are all about live music. There were many songs that I kept listening over and over again. I am sure I know the lyrics by now.. Whiskey in the jar or Galway girl are songs that will stick in my mind forever.
