The Kilkenny castle was an amazing experience. I loved the ornamental gardens and extensive land on the city side and front of the castle . One of my first thoughts was: what a cool place for hanging out or for having a picnic with friends! If I would have had more time I would have done it for sure.
It was pretty interesting to learn that the castle went through a large amount of restoration and maintenance. All of the rooms had so much history and there were so many cool details in the design that I think we could have spend a whole day just admiring the rooms and wandering around. I had fun imagining how the people that lived in the castle looked like or behaved. One of my favorite parts during the tour was the living room and the love-seat, a small sofa for four people designed in an S-shape so that the couple couldn't face each other but they could hold hands. I thought that was pretty interesting!
Kilkenny castle is a beautiful place to visit. It gave me the feeling of being part of the Kilkenny history at least for few moments.
