Yasawa Islands

Yadra!
On our way to the Yasawa Islands we stopped at Yadua Island and experienced our 1st OMG mind-blowing corals along with white tip reef sharks and various kinds of my new favorite fish, bannerfish.

The Yasawa Islands are a chain of about 20 sparsely populated volcanic islands with spectacular underwater scenery. Fiji’s reputation as the “soft coral capital of the world” is well justified with seemingly endless healthy thriving reefs. With an amazing variety of corals stacked one on top of another you forget to even look at all the incredible diversity of fish. Fiji boasts 390 species of coral and over 1500 tropical fish species – some of them unique to Fiji. Tho we didn’t see a manta ray we did explore the Sawa-i-Lau caves and never saw so many species of anemone fish & Nemos. Pictures just don’t do this justice.

And we had company! Max & Whitey's good friends Bob and Alexis joined us on Nutmeg for a week and Burton and Annie escaped from Wisconsin for some fun time in Fiji. You added More JOY to our lives!

Wish YOU were here!
