On Saturday 19th August I took Matt down to Croydon to try some Caribbean food, shop at Surrey Street market and to see the neighbourhood where I work.
We took the train to East Croydon and then wandered around Central Croydon, past the street art down to the Queens Gardens opposite from the Croydon Council building and the historic town hall. Then we made our way to Surrey Street market where we ate Carribean dumplings (jerk chicken and ackee and salt fish) and bought some cheap and fresh fruit and vegetables. We had some drinks in the beer garden of the Dog & Bull pub and then jumped on the tram, stopping at Wandle Park on the way home.
