Richmond Park was created by Charles I in the 17th century as a deer park and is the largest of London's Royal Parks (second largest park in London). The park is a national nature reserve and is famous for the large herds of wild deer which call the park home.
On Sunday 9th of July we packed ourselves a picnic and took the bus to Richmond Park and spent the day wandering the park. The park was more dry than usual due to a lack of rain but was still lovely to feel like we had escaped the city for a few hours. Matt was really excited to see the deer but we wandered the park for hours and only saw one doe.
Finally, just as we were leaving the park, we came across a large herd crossing the road to get to better grazing areas.
