Well today is the day that we head to our last province on our Cross Canada Road Trip. Our ferry crossing is at 11:45, so we have a little time in the morning to take Roxy for a good walk before we head over to the ferry terminal. The ferry terminal is located in North Sydney and only 25 km from where we are staying.

Sydney, NS to Channel-Port Travel Distance: 25 km to Ferry.

Well today is the day that we head to our last province on our Cross Canada Road Trip. Our ferry crossing is at 11:45, so we have a little time in the morning to take Roxy for a good walk before we head over to the ferry terminal. The ferry terminal is located in North Sydney and only 25 km from where we are staying.
We originally booked reclining chairs but decided for another $30 we could have our own 2 birth cabin - a no brainer. I don't always do so well on the open ocean, so it will be helpful if the seas get a bit rough. We have also booked the kennel area for Roxy so we can go see her while we are sailing. Once the ship leaves the dock, returning to the vehicle decks are prohibited.
As it turned out I was very thankful for the cabin for the crossing. The ocean was relatively calm and likely the best the ocean gets for this journey. With the large swells and mild winds, the seas were still too rough for me; I had to lie down most of the journey. I definately couldn't be part of the Navy! Roxy felt the same way I did for the crossing. Poor little thing could hardly wait to get back into the car and get off the boat. I am with her! Once we got off the ferry it was only a short drive to our AirBnB.
We rented a lovely one bedroom place near the ferry. It is not uncommon for the ferry to encounter delays and the next closest town is 2+ hours north. So.. in ensuring that we weren't driving at night in Moose country, we headed over to our place for the night.
We all were ready to kick up after a long day of travel.
Tomorrow is a new day of exploration in a brand new province that neither of us have been to. Very exciting. Here we come Newfoundland!
