The four of us plus Susan and Chris headed out for breakfast in Brighton about 9am. The day started off cold and cloudy but by the time we had finished our delicious breakfast and headed out for a walk around Brighton the clouds had cleared and it was a lovely sunny day – although still cold, about 4 degrees with snow predicted later this week! We went for a walk through The Lanes and along the water front to the pier. Walked along the pier and back through town and then it was time to say our fond farewells to Susan and Chris, and make our way to Beryl’s – our last stop before the airport. Ian and I saw Beryl a couple of times when we were last in England and she also came and stayed with us in Mandurah before Brianna was born. It was lovely to see her again and we had a great chat with her over a buffet lunch. Her daughter Ali was there as well which was great. We left Beryl’s about 4:30pm and headed to Gatwick.
We got to Gatwick in plenty of time for our 8:30pm flight, returned the car to the car rental place and found our way to our gate. We even had time to sit and have a drink and a snack in the bar before it was time to board the plane.
