My diary

A day of rest!! After a cup of tea in bed, Ian and I decided to go out for some exercise before breakfast – well at least I decided, and Ian agreed to come with me!! We went to the park area near Chris’s place where there is a series of outdoor exercise equipment and did a couple of laps of this with some running in between. Back home to undo all the good work with bacon and eggs for breakfast!! It was a bit of a grey, rainy day today – we got rained upon a little while out exercising – so we decided to turn the heater on in the conservatory and make the most of what daylight there was. Spent a very relaxing couple of hours out there then Brianna and I decided to walk into town to get our nails done and buy food for tea. The nail place couldn’t fit us in until 2pm so we went and did the grocery shopping, had a wander through a couple of other shops and then went for cream tea at the local tea house – very yummy scones but nowhere near enough cream and jam, much stingier than the places in Devon where we had cream tea!! Had a very entertaining time in the nail salon thanks to a very colourful lady (both in skin colour and character!) who was also having her nails done. Brianna needed her false nails re-doing (she is making the most of not being at work to have them done while she can) and I decided that seeing as we are soon to be back in the hot weather I would have a pedicure. Brianna and I got back home about 3:30 and we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. It was the girls turn to cook dinner so Ian and I headed out for a walk and a drink about 5:30pm. There’s a wine bar not far from Chris’s so we headed there but it was closed so we walked a bit further into town back to the Snug Bar at the Lansdowne Hotel. The same girl was behind the bar so she caught up on what we had been doing since we were last there, and poured us the same drinks we had last time – starting to feel like a local except for the fact that as soon as we speak people ask where we are from and how long we are here for!! Back home in time to prevent WW3 in the kitchen and had a very nice beef stroganoff for dinner.
The Harry Potter TV movie epic continues so it was more of that before heading to bed. We were all glad of the nothing day today, it gave us a chance to catch up on washing, diary writing, no driving and relaxing – happy family all round!!
