An early start today, up at 5:45am ready for our flight home to Perth. Check out at the hotel took a while as they had charged us for too many breakfasts and then couldn’t find the receipt from my initial payment, but finally it was sorted and we were in the taxi and on our way. We were at the airport soon after 7am and got through check in and security very quickly so we were able to sit and have some breakfast before boarding the plane. The flight was an hour late taking off as 6 people didn’t arrive for the flight and so they had to take their luggage off the plane but eventually we were on our way!!
We had a reasonable flight, bit of turbulence every now and then but made good time and landed on time just after midnight despite the late departure. Ian and I both managed a snooze on the flight so were feeling ok for the drive home. Waited a while for our bags but then it was through customs – they weren’t concerned about the cheese I had brought from Amsterdam – and back to the car. Unfortunately the car had a flat battery – Ian was concerned this may happen – so we had a 45min wait for the RAC to come but once they arrived the problem was solved very quickly and we were on our way. Got home at 3:30am to a very excited Archie, and all headed off to our own beds for the first time in 6 weeks. It has been a truly wonderful family holiday but it was also nice to be home.
