Cape Kanapitsa, Skiathos

We have our usual breakfasts this morning, cooked stuff for Elaine and nice and healthy fruit and yoghurt for me, and yet again there are only a couple of other guests having breakfast. After topping up our tanks we head for Kanapitsa Beach again today and manage to park ourselves around the same spot as last time.

It's another scorcher this morning and still not a cloud to be seen. Elaine gets in a bit of snorkelling before she settles

down and is pleased to spot quite a few different fishes close to the shoreline. Definitely needing our Factor 30 sun screen again in this relentless sunshine, and once we're nicely basted we settle down on our sun beds to continue with our spit-roasting, turning at regular intervals throughout the morning to get as even a tan as possible... one has to look ones best you know, for when one gets back home...!!!

Hardly been any children around so far during this holiday, so it is very quiet here other than the gentle lapping of the warm Aegean waves breaking onto the shore. It's so relaxing that we'll have to be careful not to doze off and get sunburnt.

The two of us are so relaxed that we nearly forget about lunch and jump up from the loungers... who am I kidding - we

struggle up from our loungers and make our way to the Kanapitsa Cafe-Bar for a cooling drink and something to eat. We just have something light as we don't want to spoil our appetites for dinner tonight next door at the Taverna! It's actually quite nice being out of that intense sunshine for a while and having an ice cold drink as we cool down.

After our pit stop we take up residence again on the beach but around two-thirty Elaine wants to head back up to the hotel for some poolside sunbathing and a swim. The heat is unrelenting so we decide to go back to our room to cool down in the air conditioning before the F1 qualifying that starts at four o'clock local time on the Greek sports channel.

Pleased to say that it all went rather well for our boy: Baku GP

qualifying: Pole Position for Lewis, 2nd Valtteri, 3rd Kimi, couldn't have been better!!!. After the excitement of Lewis getting pole for the 66th time, moving him one clear of Ayrton in the all time list and only two pole positions short of Shumi, we still have plenty of time to relax and get ourselves spruced up for our dinner date at eight.

As we take our time walking down to the restaurant we're not surprised to find that it's still pretty warm outside of our nice cool room. The waiter has reserved us a table overlooking the Aegean again, where there is at least a light balmy breeze blowing in off the water. Elaine and I ordered similar meals tonight and I was very disappointed to find that although mine was good, hers tasted better than mine...!!! I am so having what she had next time we dine here.
