Aussie Fockie 01/04/2016 - 30/04/2016

This morning I had to wake up at 6.15 am to leave to Fraser Island. First we had to go to Rainbow beach(+/-2hours) to pick up the 4WD and take the ferry to Fraser Island. I choose to join the leading car, as I did not want to drive myself. I am not used to drive on the left side, and if you have to drive in the sand, that makes it even more difficult. Plus you are responsible for the other ones in the car, so I wanted to be safe and chose to be the passenger.

In my car were the following people:
Tom ( England)
Oliver / Ollie (England, friend of Tom)
Rebecca (Sweden)
Amelia (Sweden, friend of Rebecca)
Gabi (England)
Babs (The Netherlands)
Sydney (Canada)
Helen (Schotland)

Our driver and guide for the following days was Tim. We were four cars in total. Each car had seven people in total.
As lunch we made some sandwiches and went afterwards to Lake McKenzie. Believe me, this location was really paradise on earth. The water was so clear and the landscape around us was nice as well. Tim found us two little turtles, they were so cute!
We had luck as Tim brought his hammock with him. Each of us could take some pictures while lying in the hammock. I put my picture as cover photo on Facebook and was surprised by all comments and likes. Yes, I believe I made a lot of people jealous with that picture:).
I chose to share a room with Sydney, Gabi and Babs.
If people say that we live in a small world, I can assure you that as well. You read that I went to dinner with Dick in Brisbane…. Apparently he knows Sydney and Babs as well. The night I kind of “dumped” him he went out with some friends of him, Sydney and Babs included… How bizarre is that right?:)
On the island, we had no reception at all. That felt kind of strange, because you are so used to check Facebook and put pictures on your wall.
