Aussie Fockie 01/04/2016 - 30/04/2016

Oh My God, way too early in the morning! We all had to wake up at 3.00 am to take the bus to Townsville, where we had to take the ferry to Magnetic Island.

On the Loka Bus:
Joshua (England)
Hamish (England)
Janna (Germany)
Sydney (Canada)
Babs (The Netherlands)
Gabrielle (England)
Pippa (Wales)
Megan (England)

Once we arrived at the YHA hostel, it was obvious that nobody had reception on their phones. When I entered my room, I did not pay attention who was in it. I was chatting with Babs, as she not could enter her room yet because they were still cleaning it. All of a sudden we heard a girl calling Babs. We turned our back and we saw Gabi (Fraser Island) in her bed. She was my roommate, I could not believe it. I never expected to see her again. Wanting to have a chill day, we decided to go the beach.

Ben, our Loka guide, made the suggestion to go for a walk in the national park to see the sunset. Off course we all agreed, as we looooove sunsets and sunrises.
While walking in the mountains, we saw the most perfect rainbows ever. There were two rainbows next to each other, coming from out of the ocean. It was the first time in my life that I saw the beginning of a rainbow. Most of the time you only see the rainbows in the sky and you always wonder where the beginning and ending would be.
See the sun going down in between the mountains, was an extraordinary experience. You can’t explain the view, you have to see it yourself.
I have to admit, it was not so safe to go back to the hostel, as it was getting darker after the sunset and we still had to go all the way down. We hurried ourselves and managed to do it without trouble.

We all ate a pizza at the hostel, as there was a pizza deal, and went all to bed after dinner.
