My diary

500 years ago today Martin Luther made one of the biggest impacts in church history when he nailed the 95 Theses to the door in Wittenberg, Germany. There was much that lead up to that moment and much more that followed, and I really believe without his efforts the church wouldn’t be what it is today:Freedom, access, understanding and relationship with our Father.
Since I was young I was obsessed with the history of Martin Luther. I read about him, wrote reports on him for school, and I’ve seen the movie Luther about a bajillion times. Today I got to live out a dream that I didn’t even know was a dream of mine until God made a way to do it. I spent today, October 31, 2017, 500 year anniversary of the Reformation, in Wittenberg, Germany! I was excited and in awe all day and my favorite part was seeing the door that he nailed the 95 Theses (which today is now engraved in the door).
I have absolutely no words to describe how amazing today was. No words. I’m beyond beyond blessed. God is so good.

While in Wittenberg it was very cold. We walked around all over the town and tried to explore as much of where Martin Luther was involved as possible. We went to a big oak tree that was dedicated to him, which was apparently a key point to go visit. Later, we went to the monastery where Martin Luther lived and worked when he was young. We also got to see the door which his wife dedicated and gifted to him. The biggest thing we got to see was of course the door on which he nailed the 95 Theses. Even though we went for The Reformation anniversary, there was also a renaissance fair going on. We had a lot of fun walking around the little outdoor shops and trying all kinds of cool street food. Overall, one of the most fun days I have experienced.
