So it’s been over a week since I last updated, I keep typing them out on my phone and whenever my laptop is like charged that’s when I update, so I apologize for anyone who is keeping up with my Canadian Adventures, but I promise I will start posting as soon as possible... Anyways my week has been crazy, from fire evacuations in the middle of a snowstorm to spending my first Christmas away from family to being charge of the kitchen at work cause we had no staff turn up... what an adventure it has been hah

So starting my working week off this week, it was bad enough that it was freezing cold like -13 degrees cold but we were in the middle of a snowstorm and guess what decides to happen, some kid set off the fire alarm so out we go, evacuating almost 400 kids plus instructors and taking them up to the top of the hill until it was all clear. The poor children, most of them were crying, cold and they just wanted hot chocolate hah this set up us badly for the rest of the day as we lost half an hour of prep time, which meant lunch was pushed back and oh my lord were people not happy about that, I’m like calm down you’ll get your bangers and mash ahah anyways we didn’t end up finishing work that day until really late I think like 5pm late which sucked but good for money ahah when we all finally finished work, we were all exhausted and hungry, so we went out for dinner to like Fat Tony’s and just got a pizza to share and then had drinks but not too many people we had our staff party the next day.. the week didn’t stop there, it just got more intense going from like 400 to almost 1000 kids in one day, we are so understaffed as well and so there’s just like 2/3 of us in the kitchen trying to smash out the daily special, sandwiches, grilled cheese, the salad bar, the fruity station, juice machines, hot chocolate, and making sure dishes are done, it’s a lot but I’m glad for everyone else who helps us out though, so we have normally about 5/6 helping which is soo good but still there’s a lot to do, and Wednesday was just even more intense with children, we had to be out by 4:30 that day and there was just no way we were getting there with the amount of staff we had which was like nothing but aye we got there and we were out by 4:45 so not too bad but then it was time to party! We had our staff Christmas party and the theme was ugly Christmas sweater, I couldn’t find one so I decided to make my own with a sweater I already had and well it paid off haha everyone really liked it, it was so good haha

Thursday and Friday weren’t as bad as what they should have been but we just have no staff so it’s making our work like double and means we are exhausted when it comes to lunch and we just can’t be bothered to clean up so it takes like 3 hours when really should on take like 2 hah but we always manage to work it out. Thursday night, I didn’t really do much just kinda slept and rested as I was going out on Friday night for PayDay Party only happens every two weeks when we get paid aha and holy that night was actually really fun and I didn’t wake up with a hangover until about 1pm Saturday afternoon, but still made it to work on time even tho didn’t get home until like 2/2:30am. Saturday afternoon was when the hangover it and man surviving on 3 hours sleep, it was not good... I’m just lucky that Saturday at work was super quiet cause I did not feel well at all ahh then it came for my day off yay Christmas Eve... I spent the day skiing which was nice, but it was very icy... I spent the night watching Christmas movies until about 11ish and then went to bed because Santa but I couldn’t sleep that night and was so shit, didn’t go to sleep until about 2 in the morning, I just laid there in bed hoping I could sleep and eventually I did, then when I woke up it was CHRISTMAS!

Christmas away from home, well that’s a whole another feeling, I can’t explain it but it makes the homesickness even worse, like you just miss your family but then you remember where you are and you begin to feel a sense of good about you, I don’t know if that’s the correct way to say it but yeah. Being in a place like Whistler for Christmas doesn’t always have the opportunity, so you gotta make the most of it while you can.. I worked on Christmas Day, so I guess in some ways, it didn’t feel like Christmas and just a normal working day, work that day was a good distraction from me missing home and everyone else but aye, I’ll see everyone again soon enough hah I hope everyone else’s Christmas was good and hope Santa arrived to those people who made the naughty list...Isaac & AJ... haha

I don’t have much to tell from my day yesterday, and I mainly worked all day and finished at 4:30 and I just like slept most of yesterday afternoon before making burritos for dinner last night... yes I know I live a boring life but there will be more exciting adventures coming just stay tuned aha

Anyways it’s too late now to go back to sleep, so I should do something productive with my day today and go skiing, I mean I gotta finish washing first because I need clothes cause it’s like freezing cold aha so I’ll go a bit later maybe about 10ish...
