My Canadian Adventure

For anyone who is actually reading this, I apologise that I haven't written for the last couple of days, it's been crazy and my laptop has been dead and note to self to buy another international adapter hah. But all in all, I HAVE MADE IT TO THE SNOW!

The weather here is not what I imagined it would be, it is definitely a lot colder but omg it has been so good. The last two days have been constant snow and there is still more to come so crazy. They are talking about opening the mountain early which is crazy but exciting.

There is so much to tell you all but omg just feeling a little overwhelmed but it has been so good, good choice to finally grow up :)
Started my weekend off by waking up early Friday morning to get organised to catch the Powder Express up to Whistler, the bus left at 8 am which means I had to be in the lobby by 7:45 am. This was a 2-hour bus trip and we arrived at staff housing (HOUSE) at about 10:30 am, after arriving we unpacked the bus and then headed upstairs where we got kind of like an introduction to the housing while we waited to check into our units. I had been called up with two other guys (Jack & Justin) and these guys were my new roommates for the next 6 months. We were lucky because we were the only ones in our room so we made it our own kinda hah. Anyways after checking in and settling into our unit, we then went to this place "Employee Experience" which was the place where we had to hand in all our documents and stuff for our employers and receive our staff pass. This was pretty much all I did for the day besides unpacking my suitcases and getting some food (all the pasta) haha.

As the Saturday was a public holiday, our employee check-in desk was closed so we couldn't get our uniforms until Sunday, but other than that, I went out and just shopped around the village and had a look around for some skis and some boots, which I have found and collected today so yay!!! Saturday afternoon/night was the first time I had seen actual snow, and it hasn't really stopped since then, which I am excited about, to get out and starting skiing on the mountain, although only skied for 3 days before so this will be fun haha.

Saturday and Sunday I didn't really do much, besides from just trying to navigate my way around the village and just get my head around my new home for the next 6 months. It is interesting though because to get to the village you can either walk down a really steep, icy hill or take the bus which costs you about $2.50, so it is very fun to try and get down but coming back up, omg it burns, especially when buses don't run over lunchtime so you have to walk up the mountain with your skis and your boots while it is snowing so that's fun hah. But it has been one hell of an adventure so far, moving out and moving away from my family and friends and I am keen to see what the next few months holds for me. I start working well training tomorrow afternoon and I am keen to get paid.... Slowly running out of money hah... oops

Anyways, I am going now to go cook dinner.. Starting to miss mums cooking
