Katima Mulilo and environs, Namibia, 4-7 September 2017

Initially, we were not sure whether we would overnight in the town of Katima Mulilo at all, but circumstances had conspired to have us spend there a day and two nights.

First, our vehicle's air conditioning again failed and we were told by the rental company to attempt to fix it in Katima Mulilo; and second, a section of the road leading to the campsite we had been planning to

sleep in, near the Mamili National Park, was partly flooded, and although the local children wholeheartedly assured us that we would be able to pass through, we were not in the proper scientific frame of mind to perform the experiment.

In Katima Mulilo, we decided to splurge and obtain a lodging with in-room wifi internet (10 KB/s at most, when it was working), something of a rarity in that town, so it seemed, and ended up in the most expensive accomodation we had had in Namibia (US$75 per night).

The next day we continued towards the Botswana border, but did not cross it yet.

Accommodations:
- Fish Eagle's Nest, Katima Mulilo (2 nights; too noisy at nighttime and around dawn)
- Chobe River Camp (1 night; a sub-par campsite)
