Nick: I have had a fantastic time. All the plaudits go to Jo who organised everything - 'great job' (as our hosts would say). With one day to go I'm pretty confident in saying that my highlights were the helicopter ride in the Grand Canyon, dodging the whale at Pismo and wading through the Narrows. All likely to be one-off lifetime experiences. Travelling with three women has been, erm, interesting - advantages include a guaranteed warm toilet seat (especially given it was used so often to look at phones) and for some-one who likes to clean up there has always been something to put away! I thought I might have to come home early when there was an argument about which of the three usually starts an argument. Otherwise I'm still none the wiser how women work. One missing (and missed) ingredient from the holiday - Sam!
Isabel - Without a doubt, this trip was amazingly well put together (thanks mum), and although i complained a lot, I had a lot of fun.
Sam was always in the back of my mind and whenever we did any sort of activity I always found myself thinking of what Sam would have thought if he was with us, always coming to the conclusion that he too would have had a lot of fun. It was always nice when he would make contact, usually via a group chat with me and his friend Michael. Anyway enough about him, back to the holiday. My highlights must include the helicopter ride, sea kayaking, the Ed Sheeran concert, the horse riding and, although both Ella and I were worried for our lives, the Narrows walk. Oh and who can forget the amazing Cirque de Soleil. Thank you very much mum for organising everything in this trip and thank you dad for funding it, oh sorry i mean helping her:).
Ella - This holiday has been extremely fun but also tiring. My highlights were the helicopter ride, the sea kayaking and walking through the Narrows. However in two of those activities I thought I was gonna die because of either the weather or casually bumping into two humpback whales that are 10 metres away. However many times I complained this holiday I did enjoy this holiday a lot and thank you Mum for organising it and Dad for pretending to help and driving. My overall aim of the holiday was to get a tan (oh and have a once in a lifetime adventure) and i have fulfilled those aims so that is all that really matters.
Jo - So, we arrive and leave in a blazing heat. 39C in Phoenix, plus an extra 10C caused by a sprint from connecting flight baggage claim to the BA desk with a minute to spare. We drew admiring glances from ground staff during our run - don't suppose they witness much like it in this heat. Generally, my planning paid off. I received some advance stick for micro-managing the holiday schedule, yet there were horrified looks from the girls when they didn't know where they were having dinner on any given night. As always, I enjoyed the parks more than the cities, though San Francisco was refreshing and Santa Monica just what we needed. Las Vegas will not be repeated, at least by me, but I can't say we had a bad time there either. We've eaten our body weight in Caesar Salad, and are more hydrated than at any other time in our lives. My highlights - whale, helicopter, Zion NP (every bit of it), hiking, hiking and hiking. Oh, and the fact that the girls have highlights -literally and figuratively.
