Berlin 2018

Today was another random German class, and then the full Internship Seminar.

We had a guest speaker in to talk about inter-cultural leadership. He actually used to work as a software developer, so I was all ears. Luckily, he wasn't boring. He talked about some specific cultural differences not only between Germany and America (less exciting), but also between Germany and Asian cultures (lots and lots of those). When you put a very confrontational culture together with a culture that avoids confrontation by any means possible, you get some interesting results.

The best part, though, was that the staff took the guest speaker out to lunch. Which means we had a much longer lunch period :)

We went to an adorable bakery near the center. Christine's sister was visiting Berlin, so she came and had lunch with us. She and I bonded over a mutual love of coffee.

Nothing else super exciting happened today. I mean, I had a salami and spinach sandwich for dinner, so that was pretty exciting I guess. I tried to get a little work done on my journal (with little success), and went to bed at a reasonable hour.
