This cultural landscape reveals the way that the Romans perceived their enemies and the men they had conquered. The Gauls has always been a thorn in the side of Roman success. They were the enemies that always caused the Romans to fight to the end and earn their victories. This sculpture reflects the amazement the Romans has towards the Gauls in the challenges they faced during battle. This is revealed though the bone and body structure of the Gaul. It was a very different structure than the weak defeated soldiers, or the captive royal prisoners. The Gaul was not as defined or as muscular as the sculptures of victorious Roman soldiers. However, the Gaul sculpture reveals the tireless fight that occurred when the Gauls

fought the Romans. The sword in the side also reveals the final success over the culture that had been a thorn in the side of Roman success. His facial expressions revealed the cultural implications that since the Gaul was from a similar region he was seen superior to prisons and battle opponents from Asia and Africa. This cultural landscape reflects the mindset of superiority that the Romans encapsulated in all that they did.
