The Bust of Constantine reveals the values which the Romans held. Although, they were well known for their militaristic victories, this cultural landscape reveals that Romans valued human nature based on the nature of their soul. They eyes of Constantine are chiseled in a way revealing that the Romans did not view Constantine in an angelic way like many historians have perceived him as. In fact his cultural landscape, reveals that the Romans looked passed his successes and viewed the corrupt condition of his soul. Unlike the way that Augustus saved his reputation by promoting peace, Constantine corruption his image by promoting a new religion that was different unfamiliar to the Romans. Since the Romans valued

the approval of the gods, this reveals the uncertainty they had to a new religion. It is interesting that the eyes of Constantine tell a story just like the arch of Constantine. However, the arch of Constantine reveal that Constantine was pure and holy, an angel sent to lead Rome to triumph and victory. These two comparisons cause scholars to reflect the impact of cultural landscapes based on when they were created and who created them.
