Both Bri and Kees had to work today so we caught up on news and then walked into Lisse to do some shopping and have lunch. I am sure the locals were wondering why we were the only ones walking instead of riding bicycles.

We had a great lunch at a restaurant called Panini. Given our experience with the extensive walking requirements in the airports, we went shopping for some new airport walking shoes for Karen.

While the nights are just below freezing and the days just slightly above, there is an amazing array of flowers growing. The crocuses, snowdrops, and daffodils are coming up everywhere. Kees works at the flower distribution centre and they have an amazing collection of flowers in their home. They also share their home with 3 cats, a dog and a beautiful aquarium where the snails love to eat cucumber.

After a relaxing day, Kees made a great dinner and then we headed off to the airport to catch the first of our Emirates flights to Cape Town.
