Day 1 of our trip.

We drove ourselves to Toronto airport and left the car in the Valet parking lot. We checked into our Air Canada flight to Frankfurt and had an opportunity to use our lounge passes to pass a bit of the time. Funny - our seats on the Boeing 777 were the same Premium Economy seats as we were in for our last flight to Hong Kong in December 2016.

conducive to sleeping. We arrived in Frankfurt for a 2-hour layover before our flight to Amsterdam. The airport was huge and by the time we cleared immigration and walked for what seemed like miles we had little time before our flight boarded for our final destination of Amsterdam. An hour and 15 mins later we were in Amsterdam. I think our taxiing into the gate was longer than the flight. Again another huge but efficient airport.

Bri and Kees picked us up and our conversations left off like it had been yesterday since we last saw them instead of 4.5 years. I have to admire Bri and Kees keeping up with our English conversations. We chatted for hours before our lack of sleep caught up with us. Later Kees cooked us an awesome BBQ chicken dinner, pan-fried potatoes, and delicious salad. More conversations and then we crashed to get some sleep and to try to get onto the correct time zone.
